Raketa Supersport 2
The next generation of our most important Chainrings

The Raketa Supersport (Gen1) found it’s way onto bikes that won Olympic Gold medals and World Championships. The Supersport 2 is what we built after learning everything from that.
The story
The original Supersport was introduced in 2019, right before the Tokyo Olympics. It was the world’s first track chainring where every individual size had its own structure, and was individually optimized through FEM analysis & physical testing. They were built ground-up for track sprint — with an obsessive focus on stiffness, while keeping weight low and chain engagement smooth.
Since then, the Supersport chainrings have been used by multiple nations to win medals at the Olympic Games, World Championships, and Continental Championships across multiple disciplines and multiple years.
We've manufactured thousands of these chainrings, and over that time, we've seen everything — what works perfectly, what could be better, and what the next generation of track racing demands.
Supersport 2 is the result of all of that.
Material
Every Supersport 2 is machined from aerospace-grade 7075-T651 aluminum — the same class of material that is used in aircraft structural components. We only source stock that’s held to tolerances and consistency standards that go well beyond what the alloy designation alone implies; this difference shows up in machining behavior, surface quality, and long-term fatigue resistance.
These chainrings were designed for outright performance without compromise, we use only the best materials, manufacturing techniques, and we don’t compromise on the final result.

What's new
The most fundamental change: body thickness has been increased from 4 mm to 5 mm uniformly across the full surface. Combined with a fully redesigned internal structure, this results in a significantly stiffer chainring — one that resists flex even under the extreme loads generated by elite track sprinters like Harrie Lavreysen.
In the original Supersport, a reinforced geometry was applied selectively to address the most critical stress points. In Supersport 2, this logic has been extended across the entire size range, making every size — from 49T to 70T — benefit equally from an improved structural design. Every size still has its own independently calculated geometry, developed through FEM analysis, and physical testing — not scaled up or down from a common template.
The tooth profile has been refined for smoother chain engagement. The graphics have been redesigned to sit harmoniously alongside our crankset — if you're running a full Raketa drivetrain, the design will complete itself even more.
The result is a better stiffness-to-weight ratio than the original, rated to 800 Nm.

Two versions. One standard.
Supersport 2 comes in two versions — Standard and Elite. Both share the same structure, the same aerospace-grade 7075-T651 aluminum, the same FEM-optimized geometry per size. The difference is in tooth finish — and that difference has a direct impact on drivetrain performance.
Supersport 2 is finished in Matte Pewter. Ready to race, ready to train, available in stock.
Supersport 2 Elite takes the same structure and pushes the finish to its limit. After machining, every tooth is mirror-polished individually — the same process we apply to our hub shells. The resulting surface allows the chain to glide with significantly less resistance than a standard machined tooth profile. At race speeds, under maximum load, it matters. Available in Gloss Black, Silver, and all Raketa signature colors. Made to order, ships within two weeks.

Authenticity verification
Supersport 2 is the first Raketa product to carry our individual authenticity marking system. Every chainring is engraved with a unique token that can be verified online or at authorized Raketa dealers — confirming that the part is genuine and allowing you to check its production details. This system will be rolled out across all Raketa products going forward.

A note from us
This project took us much longer than expected, and due to the success of the original Supersport, it put pressure on every decision — when something succeeds at the Olympic level, the bar for "better" is uncomfortably high.
We took the time to get it right. We're proud of what Supersport 2 became.
